Sneak Peek: Marie and Nina

Just this afternoon, I spent some time shooting beautiful Marie and her beautiful horse, Nina. It was a wonderful experience and I could not wait to get home and see what we had captured. Here is a super sneak peek at what's to come.

Megan and The Girls: A Practice Session

This week I got a special treat. A friend of mine has two beautiful daughters, both much older than my kids. These sweet girls, Megan and Erin, along with a few of Megan's friends, agreed to a fun spur-of-the-moment photo session. It was a great treat for me to not have to chase my own kids around the house to practice new angles, or try new lighting techniques, and it was fun to go out and shoot with someone else too. (Rebecca is almost as crazy with her camera as I am- love her!)

I had a great time just relaxing with my camera. The girls were really sweet and even my Brady girl tagged along. She was very happy to feel a part of the big girls' group.

We went for pizza first, and then Rebecca took us to St. Peter's Village and we walked down to this great little river. It was a blast... at least until Rebecca stumbled into the river and almost ruined her gear!

This is actually from the next morning. I was rockin' what I like to call "Cooper Angles".

This is Erin, Rebecca's younger daughter. She was more quiet and reserved, but I was taken by her simple beauty. Plus she was so sweet to my Brady!

And of course, my Brady girl had to be part of the action. Always love you B, but don't go trying to grow up too fast, ok?

Spending Time With Tinkerbell

This is my daughter's dear friend, Katie. This spring, Katie turned four years old, and her mom wanted photos to remember this precious time. So she called me.

Back track a bit to a year and a half ago. I shot some photos of Katie and her brother. I had just met Katie then and she was very shy. Would not make eye contact with me, wanted no part of me, nor of my camera. I went home from that session a bit baffled.

Ah, what a year can do! That and some great play dates between two precious little girls. I left this session practically skipping! Katie had let me into her morning and we had a blast together. I went home knowing I had captured a little bit of who this sweet little girl is.

Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

We have eye contact! I knew right away this was going to be great since she was already connecting with me so easily.

We chatted away while she hung out on her bicycle.

We had to test out her dress to see if it was good with twirling. It was!

Ah, and then Tinkerbell arrived!

Katie enjoyed some time sprouting her wings and heading off to play.

But the fun was short-lived, as Tinkerbell's mommy said she could not go off to the playground in wings.

Ah well, a true beauty, this Katie girl, with or without her wings.

Thank you, Katie for a wonderfully playful morning. And thank you, Robin, for calling on me for such a FUN job. Katie is truly one of the sweetest girls I know, and I am daily thankful that my Brady girl has a friend like Katie!

Father's Day Is Coming

I know what you're thinking...

"Wait a minute!

It's still only May! Mother's Day just ended, and you want me to start thinking about Father's Day?"

But listen...if that special father you know is anything like my husband, then he deserves something extra special this year! And if your guy is anything like my guy, then he'd love to have a daily reminder of the little people who call him Daddy.

Sixth Form Dance... aka Senior Prom

This past weekend I photographed Steve and Suzanne on their way to their Sixth Form Dance at The Hill School. I had a great time with the beautiful couple as we meandered around campus with their friends and family. Suzanne had the most beautiful dress. It was classic and elegant and looked great next to Steve's gray tux.

I am still in the middle of editing photos from the evening but this is what I've got so far and I couldn't wait to share, so here's a sneak peek!

My Favorite Subjects- A Mother's Dream!

Over the last week I've been working on making some changes with my camera and with my shooting. And of course, whenever I decide to get out and try something new, I call on my husband and three children to be my guinea pigs!

Good thing they are so beautiful and good thing they love me so much! I can be a real pain! Here are a few of my favorites from this past week's practice sessions.

...to shoot each kid in the same spot! I got Scotty as soon as he got home from school.

Brady is always happy to model for me. She is my sweet little helper.

The older kids love holding their baby brother! Poor Brady missed this shot because she had fallen asleep on the couch!

This shot was taken while we were watching Scotty's t-ball game the other evening. Scott is such a proud daddy.

Lauren's First Communion

Last weekend I met a beautiful little girl named Lauren. She and her family were celebrating her First Holy Communion. Her mom's best friend, Robin, is a friend of mine and hired me to shoot the celebration. It was a wonderful time and I loved meeting Lauren and her family.
