The Davidsons/ Schwenksville Maternity & Newborn Photography

One of the greatest perks of being a portrait photographer is sharing in the joys of family life, particularly when that family is growing.  And most definitely when that family is growing with baby #1!  It is an amazing and special gift to witness and capture the excitement of expecting parents, and the overwhelming love poured out over their newborn baby.

Such was the case with Scott and Carla as they anticipated and then celebrated the birth of their baby boy Riley.  The love that enveloped this home and this little man were extraordinary and I actually found myself in tears as I edited these images.  There is nothing more precious in life than family.

Here are a few of our favorites from the maternity and newborn sessions.

Look Who Turned One!

I cannot believe that a year has passed since I first photographed sweet baby Colbie.  Actually, it's been over a year because technically, the first time I photographed her was in her mommy's belly!  Colleen and Chad had contacted me last summer about my "Watch Me Grow" package and decided on maternity, newborn, and first year portraits.  Somehow, in the blink of an eye, we've completed all three and little Miss Colbie is now a beautiful 1 year old!

Here are a few of my favorites from our final session, shot at Daniel Boone Homestead.  However, I wanted to share one maternity portrait and one newborn portrait just to complete the scene.  

Colbie was such a joy to photograph, right from the very start.  I had the best time during each of our sessions together, and I hope that I'll be taking her portraits for years to come.  I'll have my running shoes on for the next ones though, as my guess is she'll have us all on our toes for years to come!

Sweet Baby Harper

Photographing newborns is always such a wonderful experience for me. They are so precious, so delicate and beautiful. They are joy and hope and love all wrapped up in a sweet little package. I love capturing new families, and catching kisses and cuddles, and I especially love getting to steal a few cuddles with baby myself!

But it is even more special for me when the newborn is the blessing of friends. A few weeks ago I had the joy of photographing my new little friend Harper, along with her mommy and daddy. Tom and Leigh are our neighbors and friends and I've been counting down the days for our little photo date! Harper, of course, did not disappoint! She was absolutely wonderful, never cried, and seemed perfectly content to have her portraits taken.

And of course, I got to sneak in a few extra cuddles with her. She is too precious!

Thank you so much, Leigh and Tom, for letting me steal a few hours with you and your precious little girl. She is just amazing and I was totally smitten with her! I look so forward to watching her grow each day, and am waiting in the wings to babysit anytime!

Meet Jack: A Cherished Baby

I first met Laura and Dave back in February, when Laura ordered my "Cherished Baby" package in anticipation of their little boy, who was due to arrive in April.

Despite some chilly temperatures, we had a wonderful afternoon together and I loved getting to know them. I learned that Dave is a huge Eagles fan as well as a culinary pro, and that his passion for both come out the minute he starts talking about either.

And I learned that Laura and I share a common love, that of our alma mater, Colgate University. Though there are quite a few years between my years there and hers, it was fun to share memories of our beloved school, and it connected us right away.

Shooting their maternity photos was such a treat.

But it was nothing to coming back this past month to photograph their little boy, Jack, just 10 days old in these portraits.

Jack was amazing! Besides being too adorable to describe, he was such a good baby. He slept through most of our session, never cried at all, and seemed most content to just rest in mommy's or daddy's arms.

I am already looking forward to my next session with this beautiful family! (I even picked up a prop for Jack to sport for it- Laura, check the mail!)

As for this cherished baby, I laughed with Laura that she must not think that all babies are this easy and wonderful! If they were, we'd all have ten!

But what a blessing little Jack is! Laura and Dave, congratulations again, and thanks for letting me share in your precious memories!

Loving Autumn: A September Recap

I hope your September was as wonderful as mine was. I spent my month celebrating newborns, goofing around with some great kids, and enjoying some quality time with some quality families! Here are a few of my favorites from the last month!

I was smitten with newborn Cecelia, just 4 days old here!

I hung out with some really cool kids, Graham, Sadie, Gracie, and Lucia... and their parents are pretty cool too!

Had the awesome opportunity to photograph Evan, and his sisters, Emma, and Elisabeth.

Was smitten yet again, this time with Colbie Grace, just 6 days old here!

And went out for a family session with Rich, Melissa, and their little dolls! I've been photographing this family since Sophia (now almost 3) was just 8 months old. Now she's big sister to Olivia, who turns 1 next week!

October is already booked and I'm looking forward to the great times ahead!
