Their Story: The Charltons/ Pottstown Family Photography

It was so chilly.  I couldn't imagine trying to shoot without my gloves and worried about how the girls would feel about spending the morning outside in 30 degree temperatures.

But the minute I met Sydney and Logan, I knew we were going to have a great time.
Mom, Diane, welcomed me with one of the warmest smiles.  I felt instantly at home with them.

We spent a few minutes photographing the entire family (Dad, Dave and little brother, Trent were thrilled with how quickly that went- success!) and then spent the rest of the hour with the girls and their horses.

I had such a wonderful time with Diane that I had to keep reminding myself to keep shooting!
But the girls kept me entertained with their beautiful smiles and their love for the horses and each other.  I had the most wonderful time!

I loved this session.
It left me feeling giddy after lots of laughs with the girls, a wonderful connection with a wonderful mother, and some gorgeous portraits!

I can't wait to do it again, Charlton crew!
But next time, let's hope for some warmer temps!

Keep smiling!

Their Story/ The Tanner Family: Douglassville Family Photography

Her little hat was just too much.
As if she little Leah wasn't precious enough, her mom topped her off with the most adorable little flower hat and it was just too cute.  She just stole the show- and melted my heart too!

It was a beautiful fall portrait session.
Jennifer and Zach, I loved photographing your family.

Thanks for a wonderful session!

Their Story: The Kuhre Family/ Pottstown Family Photography

Jeremy, Melody, and little Carter are a wonderful reminder of how precious family is.  I met with this beautiful little family on a chilly autumn afternoon last October (yes, I am so behind with my session blogging!).  Carter was just a little guy, but such a huge love magnet.  Mom and Dad were so over the moon for him (and for each other too), and I left the session pretty smitten with him myself!

He was quite the heart stealer.
(just ask his parents!)

Thanks for a wonderful afternoon, Jeremy and Melody!  Carter is such a doll, and I had a blast with all of you.  I wish you all such joy and success too, as you head on your next adventure, as Jeremy heads to graduate school at Cornell!

What a beautiful family!
Keep smiling,

Their Story: The Fanelli Family/ Chesterbrook Family Portraits

It starts the minute I walk through the door.  Every year, it never fails.  I walk through the front door and before I can even give Rich and Melissa a proper hug, I am swept away by these two darling little girls who melt my heart.  Sometimes it's quite literal, as the girls grab my hands and pull me into the living room to show me a new toy or their new favorite show.  Other times, they're a little more on the shy side and so they simply sweep me away with a smile.

Either way, I know that every fall as I head down to Chesterbrook, I'm in for one of my favorite sessions.

It's hard to believe I've been photographing these beauties since older sister, Sophia was just 9 months old and sweet little Olivia was still "in the land of dreams" (as my dad always used to say).

Every year they get more and more darling, more and more beautiful.
I already cannot wait until next fall!

Keep smiling, pretty girls!

Their Story/ The Novotny's

It was as if my evening got a little sunnier.
The yellows, pinks, and bright oranges that Karlene, Steve and Ava were wearing cast a warm and sunny glow on the garden that evening.  Or maybe it was they themselves.

Anyone who knows them would probably go with the latter.
It was a simple session, but a wonderful one.
Lots of smiles, lots of laughing, and lots of hugs.
I could tell as I photographed them that each of them saw themselves as the luckiest person on earth because of the other two.

It was wonderful to experience and capture such love.

This week we celebrate the loves of our lives, though I'm pretty certain these three celebrate each other daily.
Who do you love most in this world?
How might you show them this week?  Today?
Everyday?

Keep smiling,

Their Story: Jen Lebo Friends & Family/ Pottstown Family Photography

Don't even try it.
Don't try to tell me you have the best friends ever.
Because you'd be wrong.
I do.
I have the best, most beautiful, fun, and loving friends ever.
And I like to show them off, so every fall and spring, I spend a day photographing them and their families.

It's one of the highlights of my year.

Life is so wonderful with good friends.
Lucky for me, I've got the best.
(yeah, I'm betting you do too)

What makes your friends so amazing?
Have you told them recently?
Why not do so right here?
Comment below and tell us about them!

I'm Done Wasting Your Time!

This year it's about you!

Crash!  You see your daughter's bowl of goldfish falling even before you hear the explosion, before you feel the tiny crackers all around your bare feet, and all over the homework project that your 11 year old has sprawled out all over the kitchen table.  Crumbs everywhere, one kid crying, one yelling over ruined work, still another picking and eating dirty goldfish off the floor.  It's just been one of those days.  Another one of those days.  So why in the world would you take time out of your insanely busy day to read a JLP blog post that has nothing to do with you, and does nothing to help improve those crazy days?

That's exactly what I've realized this past month.  As a mom, I've got no time for blog posts, or Pinterest articles, or Candy Crush on FB.  If it's not going to help me as a mom, or as a professional, or as a woman, I can't fit it in.  But show me something that can help me make dinner faster, can help me improve my 5K pace, or that can give me ideas on how to improve my marriage, family, or self image, and I'm all over it.

And so that's what I hope to give you here.

In my true Type A personality, I've decided to do this in a structured and organized fashion.  This way you know what's coming on what day!  At least that is my intention!

This year we are going to focus on story telling.  After all that's what I specialize in right?  Telling stories through portraiture!

Blogs will come three times a week.  Mondays are "Your Story".  That is when I offer tips on photographing your family, celebrating your kids with your camera, how to relax (with or without your camera), and more.  Mondays are for you.

Wednesdays will be "Their Story".  These are days when I share the stories of my amazing clients.  I have the best clients in the world and I love sharing their stories and their images.  These days are for them.

And Fridays will be "My Story".  This is when I open up my home and my family to you.  I'm excited for the challenge to capture my life in pictures for you.  Ironically, I rarely take snapshots of my family anymore so this will be fun for me, and hopefully for you too.

Now I need your help!  I'd love to know what you'd love to hear about!  What posts would you like to see?  What can I offer you to make your photography or your days better?  Comment below and let's compile a list together!

I can't wait to get started!

Holiday Gift Ideas from Jen Lebo Photography! Pottstown Portrait Photography

Happy December!
And Happy Cyber Monday!

In keeping with the insane and wonderful spirit of holiday shopping that is Cyber Monday, I thought I'd share some of my favorite ideas on how to gift your loved ones this year with portraits.

Of course, there are the basics:
* Framed Gift Prints
* Custom Portrait Albums
* Memorable Portrait Videos
* Canvas Wraps, Wall Portraits, and more
* Fun Treats like Coffee Mugs, Mouse Pads, and Pins, adorned with your own mug!

But what if you don't have portraits at the ready?
What if you were a little late this holiday season and forgot to think ahead?
What if this is the first time you've actually thought about what in the world to give your loved ones for the holidays?

If that's the case, then how about gifting them with their own portrait session?

Jen Lebo Photography offers gift cards for sessions or order credit throughout the year!

And this year, JLP is taking things a step further!
This year, why not gift friends and family with the opportunity to better their own photo skills?

I am so excited to be offering workshops this coming January and I anticipate a super fun and super successful time!

Spots are limited so hurry and reserve yours today!
And give the gift that makes this holiday their BEST EVER!

Keep smiling!

Happy Autumn from JLP

I love autumn.
A time for sweaters and scarves.
A time for pumpkin picking and mums.
A time for crackling fires and pumpkin pie.
A time to be thankful for so many blessings.
And of course, a time for family portraits.
From our home to yours.
Happy Autumn.

The Carroll Family/ Pottstown Family Photography

Four daughters in one family?
Sounds like a recipe for drama right?  Well, not with the Carroll family!  When Maria called to set up a portrait session with her daughters, I was more than intrigued at finding out what four sisters would be like.  And after that session, I found myself asking Maria and Brian for some parenting tips, because these girls were anything but dramatic.  Fun, kind (to each other!), polite, sweet, and absolutely beautiful!  It was one fantastic session!

Not to mention a sweet little 8 year old's birthday!
Here are a few favorites from the session.

What beautiful young ladies and what fabulous parents!
I wish my kids got along like this!

Thanks, Carroll crew, for such a fun time!
Keep smiling!
