Happy Day 12 of our 31 Days of Photo Fun! I've got an idea for you today. Rather than shoot only the smiles and scrap the rest of your photos, encourage lots of different expressions and display them all together!
If your kids are like mine, their adorable little faces can make TONS of different expressions. Some, like the giggles and the smiles, are a pleasure to see. Some, like the scowls and the angry frowns, are a little less so. But all of them are unique to them, and all of them change too fast so why not capture them all.
On this morning, I sat my Brady girl down and told her to have at it. We played with all the different expressions she could think of and then we put them all together like this.
Brady had so much fun with this and I loved the results. Soon enough her expressions will change and I will actually miss that scowl (really? will I?). And now I've got a whole bunch of great expressions from her to remember and enjoy.
And the best part was the fun we had together. I think that of all my kids, Brady is the one who enjoys my camera most of all because it connects us and lets us have fun together. That is, when I'm not harping on her to tilt her head this way... no THIS way... Brady, THHHIIISSSS way!
Ah well, maybe that's how I get those classic scowls!
Have fun with this and share with us the expressions you get from your subjects!
Keep shooting!
